To find that thing that folds you into complete abandon

To find that thing
that folds you into complete abandon.
The art or practice
that bursts you with joy and light
and purpose
and the sentiment
that joy is the purpose.

I was watching Lisa Hannigan sing, and watching her was like watching someone who was so completely herself that she seemed to glow.

  1. To be totally in sync with your mind and your heart is a rare moment. As for being a substitute teacher, I was one before becoming a full-fledged one.

One day I took over a woman's English class in a very rough school. On a yellow legal pad, she had written a one word lesson plan : SURVIVE. It was an ... interesting day as in the Chinese curse brand of interesting.

Thanks for reading my post today and commenting. It meant a lot.

  2. What a lovely post. I think the artists who touch us most have this quality of sincerity that makes you feel like you're watching them alone in their room, not caring about whether anyone can see. They seem private and unshakable.

Thanks for your comment on my blog, and for seeking out such an obscure old post! Hail fellow ghost.
